Common Questions
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome during business hours (Monday–Friday 9 AM–6 PM, Saturday 11 AM–5 PM) and most clients are seen within 5 minutes of arrival. If you prefer a guaranteed time slot, booking online is the fastest way. Either way, our trilingual staff (English, Spanish, Vietnamese) is ready to help.
How long does the appointment take?
Most fingerprinting appointments take 10–15 minutes total. As an FBI-approved channeler, we submit your fingerprints electronically and your FBI background check results are emailed within approximately 5 minutes — no 5-6 week federal mail wait.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport). For Live Scan appointments, you also need your Request for Live Scan form (BCIA 8016) from your requesting agency. For FBI background checks, no form is required — just your ID and reason for the check.
How much does it cost?
FBI background check: $120 flat fee. California State apostille: $85 (standard 30-day) up to $450 (rush same-day). FBI Apostille: $350 flat fee, ~12 business days. FD-258 ink fingerprint cards: $100 for two. Live Scan fingerprinting: pricing varies by application type — see Live Scan fees.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Yes. You’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to reschedule or cancel. We ask for at least 2 hours notice if possible so we can offer the slot to another client. You can also call (408) 766-3528 to reschedule by phone.
Do you offer mobile or group fingerprinting?
Yes — for HR teams, law firms, and organizations needing on-site or group fingerprinting throughout Santa Clara County, our B2B sister site Fingerscan Digital handles mobile group fingerprinting with Net-30 invoicing and ORI assignment.
Can you also help with ITIN, notary, or legal documents?
Yes. Beyond fingerprinting and apostille, our office handles ITIN applications and renewals as an IRS Certifying Acceptance Agent (year-round, not just tax season), walk-in notary public services, passport photos, and tax preparation. For legal document preparation including living trusts, property transfers, civil filings, and bankruptcy, see TrustPoint Legal Document Preparation (LDA #268), Quinnie Do’s registered legal document assistant practice located at the same office.
