What’s the difference between FD-258, FD-1164, FINRA, and NFA cards?
FD-258 — The standard FBI 8″x8″ card. Used for FBI background checks, USCIS immigration, out-of-state professional licensing, and most federal applications.

FD-1164 — FBI personnel security card, used for federal personnel security investigations.

FINRA — Required for financial industry registration (Series 7, securities licensing, broker-dealer registration).

NFA — National Firearms Act card, required for ATF firearms applications including Class III items.

I live in California but need cards for another state. Can you help?
Yes — this is one of our most common services. California residents applying for nursing licenses, bar admissions, teaching credentials, real estate, CPA, or other professional licenses in another state often need FD-258 cards mailed to that state’s licensing board. We prepare mail-ready cards that meet FBI federal standards and are accepted in all 50 states.
Why would I choose fingerprint cards instead of electronic FBI submission?
It depends on what your destination agency requires. Many state licensing boards, federal agencies (ATF, FINRA), and out-of-state employers specifically require physical fingerprint cards mailed to them — they don’t accept electronic submission. Check the application instructions from your destination agency. If they accept electronic, our $120 FBI Background Check is faster (results in ~5 minutes by email). If they require cards, you need this service.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins welcome Monday–Friday 9am–6pm and Saturday 11am–5pm. Booking online guarantees your time slot during peak hours. The full process — fingerprinting, printing to card, and mail-ready packaging — takes about 15–20 minutes.
What if I need cards mailed to multiple agencies?
Each $100 service includes 2 cards. If you need to send cards to more than 2 agencies, we can produce additional cards from the same fingerprinting session at our standard rate. This is much more efficient than coming back for another fingerprinting session. Just bring application forms or addresses for all agencies you need to mail to.
