Frequently asked

Common questions, answered honestly.

Is Fingerscan Digital a law firm or immigration attorney?
No. Fingerscan Digital provides fingerprinting, notary, apostille, and related certified services. Document preparation is provided by partner TrustPoint Disability & Legal Services, a registered Legal Document Assistant (LDA #268) bonded under California Business & Professions Code §6400. TrustPoint prepares forms at your direction and cannot give legal advice or represent you before federal agencies.
What is the difference between your rate and the government fee?
Our preparation rate covers completing your forms, organizing evidence, and assembling the filing packet. The government fee is paid directly to the federal agency at submission. We never mark up government fees.
Can I qualify for a reduced or waived government fee?
Often, yes. Naturalization applicants at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a reduced N-400 fee of $380 by paper filing. Many applications support a fee waiver (Form I-912) for income-eligible applicants. We help assemble the supporting documentation.
How long does immigration document preparation take?
Most preparation runs three to seven business days from the moment you return your completed checklist. Complex bundles may take longer. Adjudication timelines after filing are set by the government and are separate from preparation time.
Do you offer Spanish or Vietnamese-speaking staff?
Yes. English, Spanish, and Vietnamese are spoken on-site every day we are open. You won’t need an interpreter for routine consultations or signings.
Do you take immigration-compliant passport photos here?
Yes. Photos are taken in-house and meet current federal specifications — commonly bundled into the same visit as your consultation or signing.
What documents should I bring to the free consultation?
Bring any government-issued ID, your passport, prior agency notices, marriage or birth certificates for family petitions, and proof of income or recent tax returns. We’ll let you know if anything else is needed.
