Common Questions
Passport Assistance FAQ
Are you an acceptance facility? No. We are a document preparation service. We help you prepare your application — filling out the form, taking your photo, reviewing your documents, and scheduling your interview. You then submit your completed application at an acceptance facility (typically a post office or county clerk’s office). We make sure everything is ready so your appointment goes smoothly.
Can you help me fill out the form in Spanish or Vietnamese?Yes — that’s one of our primary services. Our trilingual staff assists native Spanish and Vietnamese speakers in completing the forms accurately. The application itself is in English, but we explain every field in your language and fill it out for you based on your answers.
Do I need an appointment?Walk-ins are welcome at our San Jose office during business hours. If you prefer a specific time, you can schedule online or call 408-766-3528. This service is available only at our San Jose office — no remote or off-site assistance.
How much does the assistance service cost? Our assistance fee covers form completion, review, passport photo, and interview scheduling. Call 408-766-3528 for current pricing. Note: U.S. Department of State application fees are separate and paid directly to the government at your acceptance facility appointment.
Can you help with a child’s passport?Yes. For children under 16, both parents (or legal guardians) must be present with valid ID — or one parent with a notarized consent form (DS-3053) from the absent parent. We help fill out the DS-11 form, take your child’s compliant image (including infants), and explain all parental consent requirements.
Can I renew my passport by mail?If you’re eligible for renewal by mail (DS-82), we help you fill out the form and take your photo. You then mail the application yourself. If you don’t qualify for mail renewal — for example, your passport was issued when you were under 16 or is over 15 years old — you’ll need to apply in person with DS-11. We’ll determine which form is right for you.
Do you provide photos only?Yes — you don’t need to use our full assistance service to get a passport photo. Walk in to our San Jose office and we’ll take a compliant 2×2 inch photo, printed or digital. Also accepted for visa applications, green card renewals, and foreign travel documents.
Is this service available outside of San Jose? No. Passport assistance is available only at our San Jose office located at 434 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA 95123. We do not offer remote or mobile services.
