Why Choose Fingerscan Digital

Six Reasons San Jose Families Choose Us Over Mail-In CAAs

Most ITIN application San Jose services require mailing your passport, or charge surprise fees. We do neither. Here’s what makes our CAA service different.

Your Passport Stays With You

Most ITIN routes require mailing your passport to the IRS for 10–14 weeks. We verify your documents in person and you walk out with your originals — every time.

Monitored Until IRS Approval

We don’t submit and disappear. We track your W-7 status, handle any IRS notices, and resubmit if needed — until your number is issued. You won’t be on hold with the agency.

Multilingual In-Person Service

Quinnie speaks Spanish, English, and Vietnamese. Forms and questions are explained in your language — no language barrier between you and your taxpayer identification number.

Real San Jose Office, Not Mail-Only

Walk in at 434 Blossom Hill Rd. Meet Quinnie in person. Most CAAs are mail-in or out of state — we’re here, local, and accountable.

Honest Resubmission Policy

If we made the error, resubmission is free. If a documentation issue on your side caused the rejection, a flat $100 covers the work. No surprise charges.

Year-Round ITIN Service

Need an ITIN for a July mortgage or October spousal return? We process applications 12 months a year — not just tax season like seasonal preparers.

Frequently Asked Questions

ITIN Questions Answered Honestly

How long does the ITIN application process take?
Your in-person appointment takes 30–45 minutes. processing typically takes 6–11 weeks — sometimes longer during peak tax season. We monitor your application and notify you when your ITIN is issued.
Do I really get to keep my original passport?
Yes. That’s the point of using a Certifying Acceptance Agent. We verify your passport in person, certify a copy with our IRS-authorized credential, and the IRS accepts our certification. You walk out with every original.
Do I need a tax return to apply for an ITIN?
In most cases yes — the federal government requires a tax return attached to your W-7. Limited exceptions apply (treaty benefits, mortgage applications, etc.). We offer tax return preparation at a discounted rate for ITIN clients.
What if the IRS rejects my application?
We monitor every application. If rejected, we contact you, explain what’s needed, and handle the resubmission. If our error caused the rejection, we resubmit for free. If it was a documentation issue on your end, the resubmission is a flat $100.
I’m renewing an old ITIN. Is the process different?
Renewals are slightly faster because the IRS has your record. You’ll apply in person, bring your passport, and attach a tax return. Renewal fee is $300. ITINs expired before 2024 may require renewal before you can file.
How is your fee different from a CPA or H&R Block?
CPA firms charge $350–$500 as part of a tax engagement. Chains charge $250–$300 with limited follow-up. Our $325 fee includes verification, monitoring, and resubmission guarantee — no hourly billing.
