Immigration Fingerprinting in San Jose
FBI Checks & FD-258 Cards for Your Case

Fingerscan Digital provides immigration fingerprinting in San Jose and across California — FBI background checks submitted through an FBI-approved channeler partner, plus FD-258 ink cards for foreign police-clearance requirements. USCIS schedules its own biometrics at an ASC office; what we provide is the federal Identity History Summary and the ink cards a foreign visa, residency, dual-citizenship, or naturalization filing may require, usually the same business day.

Need an FBI background check for immigration or an FD-258 card for a foreign visa, dual citizenship, or residency abroad? Walk in to our San Jose office and we submit your prints through our channeler partner, with most federal reports returned the same business day.

What immigration fingerprinting covers

Your federal Identity History Summary, on your immigration timeline

USCIS handles its own biometrics at ASC offices, so we do not take the place of a USCIS appointment. What our immigration fingerprinting in San Jose and across California provides is the parallel piece many filings need — a direct FBI report through our FBI channeler partner, typically returned in one to four hours instead of the weeks a mail-in CJIS request takes.

People attach that report to foreign work-visa applications, dual-citizenship petitions, residency and naturalization filings abroad, international adoptions, and foreign police-clearance requirements — the same source as the FBI’s own copy.

  • Same-day FBI background check via our channeler partner
  • PDF delivered to your email or to your attorney
  • FD-258 ink cards for foreign police-clearance equivalents
  • Walk-in, mobile, and group appointments
Why people come to us

Why people get immigration fingerprinting

Six reasons San Jose families come to us

The most common immigration cases we fingerprint for across San Jose and California — each on a real filing deadline.

Foreign work visa

Working or transferring abroad

Many consulates and overseas employers require an FBI background check before they issue a work visa or permit. We capture your prints and submit them through our channeler partner.

Identity History Summary
Residency abroad

Residency & immigration to another country

Long-term residency applications in Europe, Asia, and Latin America commonly ask for a recent federal police record from the FBI.

Often apostilled
Dual citizenship

Dual-citizenship petitions

Countries such as Italy, Spain, Mexico, and the Philippines often require an authenticated FBI report as part of a citizenship-by-descent claim.

Hague apostille
Naturalization

Naturalization & good moral character

For applicants with prior law-enforcement contact, a clean federal record can support a moral-character file. We pull it so you file from facts.

Supplemental evidence
International adoption

Adopting from abroad

Intercountry adoption agencies and foreign authorities require FBI background checks for prospective parents, frequently with an apostille.

Per agency request
Foreign police clearance

Teaching or living overseas

Some foreign police-clearance requirements call for FD-258 ink cards rather than an electronic submission. We roll classifiable ink cards on the official form.

Immigration fingerprinting FAQ

Immigration fingerprinting questions, answered

Can you do my USCIS biometrics appointment?
No. USCIS schedules its own biometrics at an ASC office for forms like I-485 or N-400. Our immigration fingerprinting provides the separate FBI background check and FD-258 ink cards that foreign visas, residency, dual citizenship, and other filings often require.
How fast is an FBI background check in San Jose?
Most reports return within one to four hours. Our channeler partner submits your prints electronically to the federal CJIS division, so you skip the multi-week wait of a mail-in request.
Can I get immigration fingerprinting anywhere in California?
Yes. Our San Jose office serves clients from across California, and our mobile service can travel to you. The FBI background check is the same federal record no matter where in California you are.
My attorney asked me to get an FBI background check — can you help?
Yes. We capture and submit your prints and deliver the Identity History Summary to you or directly to your immigration attorney, by your preference. We also work with law firms that send clients in.
Do you also apostille the FBI report for foreign use?
Yes. For Hague Convention countries such as Italy, Spain, Korea, Mexico, India, and the Philippines, we offer the FBI apostille through the U.S. Department of State alongside the background check.
Do you provide FD-258 ink cards for foreign police clearance?
Yes. Some foreign police-clearance requirements ask for FD-258 ink cards rather than electronic submission. We roll classifiable prints on the official FD-258 form in a short walk-in appointment.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Bring a valid government photo ID, such as a driver license, state ID, or passport. If a foreign authority gave you specific instructions or a form, bring that too so we capture exactly what they require.
What if a print submission is rejected as unclassifiable?
If a submission is rejected because of a rolling or handling issue on our end, we re-roll and resubmit at no additional charge. Federal processing fees set by the agency are separate and non-refundable.
